ABY 1A: Unit 7 Conversation 3

Dear readers, this is my teaching material for my English class at At-Taqwa Quran Memorization School of Sukoharjo. This material is taken from Al-Arabiya Baina Yadaik Book 1A, Unit 7, Conversation 3.

TEACHER’S NOTE

الحوار الثالث : يَتَنَاوَلُ الْحِوَارُ الْيَوْمَ الدِّرَاسِيَّ بِالنِّسْبَةِ لِلطُّلَّابِ، فَالطَّالِبُ يَقُومُ عَادَةً مُبَكِّرًا مِنَ النَّوْمِ، وَيَسْتَعِدُّ لِلذَّهَابِ إِلَى الْمَدْرَسَةِ، وَيَنْطَلِقُ إِلَى هُنَاكَ، حَتَّى يَصِلَ فِي الْوَقْتِ الْمُنَاسِبِ. وَيَتَضَمَّنُ الْحِوَارُ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ طَرِيقَةِ الذَّهَابِ إِلَى الْمَدْرَسَةِ، وَمَوْعِدَ بِدَايَةِ الْيَوْمِ الدِّرَاسِيِّ وَنِهَايَتِهِ، وَعَدَدَ الْحِصَصِ فِي الْيَوْمِ الدِّرَاسِيِّ، وَيُعَرِّفُ بِالْأَمَاكِنِ الْمُهِمَّةِ فِي الْمَدْرَسَةِ مِثْلِ الْمَكْتَبَةِ وَالْمُخْتَبَرِ. The Third Conversation: The dialogue talks about the school day for students. So, the student usually wakes up early from sleep, and gets ready to go to school, and goes there, until he arrives at the right time. And it includes the dialogue talking about how to go to school, and the time the school day starts and ends, and the number of lessons in the school day, and it tells about the important places in the school like the library and the laboratory.

CONVERSATION 3 (ABY 1A UNIT 7)

قَاسِمٌ: أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ يَا غَسَّانُ؟

Qasim: Where are you going, Ghassan?

قَاسِم: وَيْن رَايِح يَا غَسَّان؟

غَسَّانُ: أَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْمَدْرَسَةِ.

Ghassan: I am going to school.

غَسَّان: أَنَا رَايِح الْمَدْرَسَة.

قَاسِمٌ: الْوَقْتُ مُبَكِّرٌ. السَّاعَةُ الْآنَ السَّادِسَةُ صَبَاحًا.

Qasim: It is early. The time is six o'clock in the morning now.

قَاسِم: الْوَقْت بَدْرِي. السَّاعَة الْحِين سِتَّة الصُّبْح.

غَسَّانُ: الْمَدْرَسَةُ بَعِيدَةٌ عَنِ الْبَيْتِ.

Ghassan: The school is far from the house.

غَسَّان: الْمَدْرَسَة بَعِيدَة عَن الْبَيْت.

قَاسِمٌ: مَتَى يَبْدَأُ الْيَوْمُ الدِّرَاسِيُّ؟

Qasim: When does the school day start?

قَاسِم: مِتَى يَبْدَأ الْيَوْم الدِّرَاسِي؟

غَسَّانُ: يَبْدَأُ السَّاعَةَ السَّابِعَةَ صَبَاحًا.

Ghassan: It starts at seven o'clock in the morning.

غَسَّان: يَبْدَأ السَّاعَة سَبْعَة الصُّبْح.

قَاسِمٌ: هَلْ تَذْهَبُ بِالْحَافِلَةِ؟

Qasim: Do you go by bus?

قَاسِم: تَرُوح بِالْبَاص؟

غَسَّانُ: لَا، أَذْهَبُ بِالسَّيَّارَةِ.

Ghassan: No, I go by car.

غَسَّان: لَا، أَرُوح بِالسَّيَّارَة.

قَاسِمٌ: مَتَى يَنْتَهِي الْيَوْمُ الدِّرَاسِيُّ؟

Qasim: When does the school day end?

قَاسِم: مِتَى يِنْتَهِي الْيَوْم الدِّرَاسِي؟

غَسَّانُ: يَنْتَهِي السَّاعَةَ الْوَاحِدَةَ ظُهْرًا.

Ghassan: It ends at one o'clock in the afternoon.

غَسَّان: يِنْتَهِي السَّاعَة وَاحِدَة الظُّهْر.

قَاسِمٌ: كَمْ حِصَّةً تَدْرُسُ فِي الْيَوْمِ؟

Qasim: How many lessons do you study in a day?

قَاسِم: كَم حِصَّة تِدْرِس فِي الْيَوْم؟

غَسَّانُ: أَدْرُسُ سِتَّ حِصَصٍ فِي الْيَوْمِ.

Ghassan: I study six lessons in a day.

غَسَّان: أَدْرِس سِتّ حِصَص فِي الْيَوْم.

قَاسِمٌ: مَاذَا تَفْعَلُ فِي الْإِسْتِرَاحَةِ؟

Qasim: What do you do during the break?

قَاسِم: وَش تِسَوِّي فِي الْإِسْتِرَاحَة؟

غَسَّانُ: أَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْمَكْتَبَةِ، أَوْ إِلَى الْمُخْتَبَرِ.

Ghassan: I go to the library, or to the laboratory.

غَسَّان: أَرُوح الْمَكْتَبَة، أَوْ إِلَى الْمُخْتَبَر.
