Cold-Blooded Neglect: Wisconsin Humane Society Saves Animals from Icy Garage

Over the past weekend, the Wisconsin Humane Society's Kenosha campus responded to a report of animals found in an unheated garage in Silver Lake.

They have since taken in three dogs, aged between 1 and 4 years, and three cats, all under a year old.

Angela Speed, a representative from the Wisconsin Humane Society, explained that the animals are currently undergoing medical assessments.

Due to the ongoing investigation, further details about the case are restricted.

However, Speed took this opportunity to remind pet owners of the dangers of cold weather.

"It's crucial to limit pets' exposure to the cold, as they are susceptible to frostbite on their ears, tails, and paw pads," she stated.

The Sheriff's Office has been contacted for further information about potential charges, but no response has been received yet.

The Humane Society is stressing the importance of providing heated shelters for pets during extreme weather to prevent hypothermia and frostbite.

They are urging anyone who sees an animal at risk to report it immediately.

Residents in Racine and Kenosha County should contact the Wisconsin Humane Society for assistance.

With the current weather forecast predicting continued cold temperatures, the Humane Society is on high alert to ensure the safety and well-being of pets across the region.Fox6
